BATTLE OF THE BULGE
BATTLE OF THE BULGE
By Stephany Spencer-LeBaron
When it comes to food,
I long for resistance –
Stuffing to stuff holes
For Psychic subsistence
Endangers physical substance.
I’m forced to keep grub
At a dastardly distance,
Plus emend my daily existence.
Food and I have a Con-coexistence:
Victuals cause me hunger
With perpetual persistence –
That ever-gnawing craving
For fattening ingredients.
Attempting to outdistance
Tempting incidents,
I exercise with
Herculean consistence …
Pacing work-outs
With rest-time’s assistance.
Plus I follow a diet
Of mere subsistence –
An intermittent abstinence
Like bare-bones existence.
To Just say NO
To food’s insistence,
I’ve formed a few
Helpful hints.
For instance:
1- Store only
Resistible supplements.
2- Avoid eating at restaurants
For general sustenance.
3- Buy nourishment
Wth healthful contents …
Stuff that sticks
To my inTENTS,
NOT my fundaments!
I’ve found
Keeping ’round
Non-tempting nutrients
Makes a BULGE difference
In my appearance …
And life’s experience.
The perennial struggle
With FAT in my middle
Is an ongoing
Battle of the Bulge.
Winning the battle
Is my unresolved riddle.
Ever ‘twill be
If I fiddle with food’s
That make me indulge.
But knowing things
Could be worse,
Thank God I deal
With Dio-besies,
Not a worse curse!
